Deux-Lux Bags with Bling!

One of the biggest trends this fall and winter season is bling. This trend spans from your clothing to your jewelry and even to handbags. To keep our customers as stylish as possible Cela Creations is carrying many glitzy accessories so your wardrobe can be bling galore. One of my very favorites of the season are the Deux Lux handbags.

I found these bags on a trip to NYC and could see how popular they are going to be. The only other place I have seen them aside from our boutique and New York City boutiques is Nordstrom, and they are very pricey there for sure. At Cela Creations the bags and wallets range in prices from $49 up to $145.

 

These bags are excellent quality. Some are made from leather and all are made extremely well. They can be either casual or dressy, the choice is all yours! My favorites are the ones with the sequins because they offer an extra pop of glam to your daily ensamble. The lining in these handbags is especially cute with a poke-a-dot pattern on a beige background.

 

Go for Baroque!

This week the boutique received a new shipment of pearls that I am so thrilled to finally have received! For all pearl enthusiasts, you have to come in and check out our new Baroque pearls! They have such a beautiful luster and their quality is a AAA rating. We have several colors, shapes and sizes of the large drill hole variety, which is very unusual.

If you like pearls or pearl jewelry you will really love the Baroque shape. They are a unique shape and so versatile in terms of what you can do with them. The quality of their luster is stunning. Not to mention, they are priced very reasonably. I recently watched a home shopping show (who claims to have discounted prices) while laid up with my ankle and saw a very similar strand on sale for $237.00. Our prices are no where near that priced at $62.00 a strand and I think they are much better in quality.

These pearls are great for making unique and rare jewelry pieces. They allow the designer to be creative and innovative with what they choose to do. I usually let the shape of the pearl define the piece that I am making. Pearl and leather is a very popular combination right now, and the large hole pearls are the perfect ones to use for leather jewelry pieces.

We have many different varieties in the store right now. The black and silver pearls look great with jet crystals and Labradorite.
The white ones are extremely beautiful and look great by themselves. They can also be paired with a rhinestone accent or a rhinestone pave clasp to add some bling for a dressy look. If you want to get trendy use the silver large hole pearl which looks great with the dark brown leather, This is a very chic and new look.

One of the biggest trends I am seeing this fall is chocolate colored metals. These pieces are so elegant and chic and they go with everything. At the boutique we have many pieces that fit this craze. This metal is a unique hue which is perfect for the season because of its dark and vibrant features. It can be paired with many other colors and looks great with gold or silver jewelry as well.

The dark bling is the thing right now. The pave black diamond and black crystal look is beautiful and makes for some truly beautiful pieces. At the boutique we have several pieces fitting this trend. Again, this goes with both silver and gold. These accessories can dress up and outfit in a very tasteful and fancy way.

Stacked bracelets are another big trend, especially with bangles. Bracelets are no longer worn alone. The style is to wear several bracelets, either matching or different styles all together. Cela Creations is carrying so many different types of bracelets at reasonable prices so that everyone can take advantage of this trend regardless of personal style. We have bangles with bling, stretchy beaded bracelets and colorful pieces that can be mixed and matched.

Finally, the mixed metals look will be big in the fall and winter. Silver and gold look just as great together as they do alone. Rose gold goes well with both too. They are a lot of fun to put together and now you can wear all of your jewelry together!

Alex and Ani Bangles-Angela's Favorites

This week I'd like to highlight one of my new favorites, a bracelet brand that is quickly becoming extremely popular and sought after, Alex and Ani. The unique and stylish bracelets caught my eye immediately and I was thrilled this summer when I was finally able to get them at the boutique. When I was in New York I was in one of my favorite stores and Alex and Ani was having a trunk show.

These bangles are unique in many ways. First off, they are eco-friendly, each piece is created from recycled materials adding to its beauty. There are several different designs available, making them unique to each wearers personality as well. Some are colorful, others are sentimental or have a spiritual purpose, and some are simply fashionable and trendy. Another special feature is the way these bangles are size adjustable; they can be expanded for thicker wrists or tightened for small wrists.

 

Alex and Ani bangles are perfect for stacking. I think they look especially chic when stacked three to five per wrist. They are the ultimate trendy accessory right now. These bangles can be worn with casual or dressy outfits and there are so many different styles that they go with everything.

Wedding Fashion Show Brooch Bouquet

The brooch bouquet madness is continuing. Last week two of my new brooch bouquets were featured in a fashion show, Style Down the Aisle on August 31st at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower. 


I made two brand new bouquets for this show. These were a little different, but equally as beautiful. I was very excited to learn that this trend can be molded to fit every personality and style. 

The fashion show was very elegant and chic. Each designer presented their collection personally adding their own uniqueness and providing a face for every design. They showed a movie which depicted a couples' wedding story and how they made it to the alter. This was definitely one of my favorite parts. The atmosphere was like a New York fashion show, very chic and trendy. 

My bouquet was used in the middle of the show. It was honestly a show stopper. I loved seeing it coming down the aisle in the hands of a bride, it was like seeing the whole picture together for the first time. For me it brought to life how truly unique and beautiful these bouquets are because they pop so much more than the traditional bouquet. 

I feel very proud of this creation, and grateful it has gotten the response that it has. It is my honest opinion that the brooch bouquet really adds something to the wedding; it is an element that makes the bride's ensemble even more special. I love this idea so much, I am recommending one to my son's fiance, Kelly, for their upcoming wedding!

Celebrity Jewelry: Kardashian

We all know the famous family: The Kardashians, especially after Kim Kardashian's recent wedding that grabbed many major media headlines. Most have seen their show Keeping up with the Kardashians on E! I watch it on occasion and usually enjoy the crazy happenings of this family when I do. Recently, I had it on and couldn't help but notice Kris Jenner's (famous Kardashian mom) earrings. 

These super gorgeous diamond earrings that she wears are eerily similar to a pair that I have in the boutique. These aren't just any earrings either, they are one of my favorite pairs we have in right now! The best part is, while Kris' earrings probably cost her thousands the virtually identical earrings available in the boutique are around $100. 

These earrings are made with black diamond crystals in an antique brass setting. Perfect for fall and great for a night out or a dressy look. They are stunning in person and look very elegant on. I even wear a pair myself.

Angela's Picks- Vintage Beads!

I have always had a love for vintage items. There's something about antique shopping that I love. I was recently on a family vacation in California and when I came across a vintage antique store in Sonoma County I was pleasantly surprised. Little did I know I was about to find something I loved even more than antiques, beads! Who knew I could combine two of my favorite things! I had to bring them back for my boutique, of course.

These vintage beads are called "Bakelite" beads. They are the earliest form of plastic made from synthetic materials. They are made of a resin invented by Leo Baekeland in 1907. These particular beads also have Swarovski crystals in them. Bakelite is an extremely collectible kind of bead. The retro appeal of old Bakelite products and labor intensive manufacturing has made them quite collectible in recent years.

 

I am attracted to these beads not just because they are rare collectibles and antiques but also because they are different, unique and very attractive to the eye. I love to have things in the boutique that you can't find anywhere and that's what these beads are. They come in several different colors and the detailing on the bead is intricate and exquisite. They are sold by the strand and priced from $10.50-$12.50
